Extending Support to Flood Victims in 2020

Joy of Helping received an appeal from an NGO in Nairobi, Kenya, to contribute towards relief efforts for flood victims who have lost everything. Our support aims to provide 1,200 food packages, 200 blankets, and 200 mosquito nets, primarily benefiting women and children. These mosquito nets are crucial for safeguarding children from malaria, especially in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic. Our overall goal was to donate a total of 4,200 food packages to aid both coronavirus and flood victims among the poorest communities in Kenya.

Overcoming Adversity:

The flood-triggered disasters have left homes demolished, crops destroyed, and roads swept away, presenting significant challenges for relief efforts, particularly in remote areas. Tens of thousands of people across the country have been displaced, and rain-triggered events, including flash floods and landslides, have tragically claimed many lives.
