About

Yusuf Meherally Centre (YMC), a registered voluntary organization established in 1961, has a 60-year legacy of philanthropic activities. YMC is engaged in various initiatives, including comprehensive healthcare, education (both mainstream and skill-based), empowerment of women and Adivasis (tribal communities) in village industries, agriculture training, off-farm employment generation, and disaster relief efforts. They operate through 10 branches across India in Maharashtra, Gujarat (Kutch), Tamil Nadu (Nagapattinam), Orissa, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Jammu and Kashmir, and even Kerala.

Impact of Project Supported by Joy of Helping

Since 2016, Helping Hands has been collaborating with YMC, offering financial support. In 2016, we contributed two mini buses, and in 2018, with the assistance of families and friends, we provided a large school bus. Annually, we conduct visits to schools in coastal areas to assess their functioning and identify specific needs. Our aim is to address immediate requirements in remote areas where resources are scarce.

Water for Life Trust – Project Maji in 2022

Joy of Helping’s support to Water for Project Maji provided sustainable solar-powered water to rural and remote Kenya. They digitized operations using tools like mWater for site assessment, ensuring efficient resource allocation. An e-payment system gathers revenue transparently, aiding maintenance.
