Healthier Futures with Health and Care Foundation

Advancing neonatal eye care, developmental rehabilitation, and assistive support to help children achieve healthier, more independent lives.

Health and Care Foundation provides specialized and affordable healthcare services to underserved communities, with a strong focus on neonatal eye care and developmental rehabilitation. Through early intervention, specialized treatment, and assistive support, the foundation helps protect vision, improve mobility, and enhance the quality of life for vulnerable children.

Impact and Progress of Our Work with Health and Care Foundation 2025:

Joy of Helping supports the Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP) Program.

  • By protecting premature babies from preventable vision loss through early screening and timely treatment. Between April 2025 and March 2026, 5,181 ROP screenings were conducted across a network of NICUs and healthcare facilities in Gujarat, with 176 eyes receiving timely treatment to prevent long-term vision impairment.
  • The partnership also supports children with cerebral palsy and developmental disorders through the Center for Developmental Disorders. Joy of Helping donated walkers to 12 children, helping improve mobility, balance, posture, and independence while enabling greater participation in therapy and everyday activities. Several children progressed from assisted standing to taking independent steps with increased confidence.
  • Premature babies continue to face the risk of vision-threatening eye conditions, while children with developmental disorders often require specialized rehabilitation and assistive devices to achieve greater independence. Limited access to early diagnosis, therapy, and essential support services remains a significant challenge for many families.

Looking ahead, Joy of Helping will continue expanding neonatal eye care, strengthening rehabilitation services, improving access to assistive devices, and supporting families through early intervention and specialized care. Together with Health and Care Foundation, these efforts will continue protecting children’s vision, enhancing mobility, and creating healthier, more independent futures.
