Impact and Progress of Our Work with Akhand Jyoti:
Joy of Helping supports Akhand Jyoti in expanding affordable eye care services and strengthening access to treatment across rural Bihar.
- Through nine Vision Centres, 70,706 patients accessed eye care services. The programme conducted 34,846 eye examinations, provided 20,444 prescription spectacles, facilitated 12,571 surgeries, and referred 2,845 patients to higher centres for advanced treatment.
- To reach underserved communities, 1,351 outreach eye care camps were organized, serving 60,115 individuals. The initiative referred 21,695 patients for further diagnosis and treatment and distributed 14,004 near-vision glasses, improving vision and supporting daily activities.
- Together, the Vision Centres and outreach programmes reached 1,30,821 individuals, strengthening last-mile access to quality eye care through timely screening, referrals, vision correction, and surgical intervention.
- Through its partnership with Akhand Jyoti, Joy of Helping continues to prevent avoidable blindness, improve access to affordable eye care, and create healthier futures for rural communities.
